This module looks at the industry's commitment to sustainability. Australian Wild Prawns are fished with a steadfast commitment to long-term environmental and resource sustainability.

During fishing operations, the Australian Wild Prawn fleet abides by the most stringent regulations and fisheries management laws worldwide.

By the end of this course, you'll be able to: 

  • Explain the concept of sustainable fishing.
  • Explore the technologies pioneered by the Australian Wild Prawns industry.
  • Learn about the Marine Stewardship Council certification and its significance to the fishing industry and consumers. 

This module is an initiative of the Australian Council of Prawn Fisheries supported by funding from the Fisheries Research and Development Corporation on behalf of the Australian Government.
